Re(1): Southampton Pic

An update, several experts have been shown this picture. The ones in states that allegedly do not have a mountain lion population all say its a bobcat, but the reason given is contested by others. Others say its a mountain lion, including a bobcat expert that viewed it. Sorry, Im not going to post it at this time. It was briefly posted, and within minutes, I find it posted on another website with a "confirmed mountain lion" label. The website owner was told to take it down, and the hosting company of the website made sure it was. At this time, more efforts are taking place in the area to get more evidence, including a better picture. The picture taken was very clear, but the cat was crouching in high grass, and the picture was from the side. The tail isnt very visible, nor is the face. The fantastic work of the cougars of the valley initiative to document these with trailcams and other means is being extended to this area. We do NOT want unconfirmed pictures attributed as confirmed by outsiders. There are several very convincing features on the photo, but the photo lacks the face and tail detail needed to make it uncontestable.
