From a summers thread

The golden mare knew she should not interfere, Solgar had made his appearance and she would have thought that would the pale creature but it only seemed to cause more harm. Winter shook her head and snorted, her breath a cloud of disappointment. She had not been observing the small group for very long only since Solgar had approached since the bone face girl had been looking for him, she really need to talk to the old man about the foal and had been trying to catch him. When her icy orbs witnessed him moving to a group including the red roan she had hung back and stayed hidden for the time being.

As the spring grew nearer and nearer the more panicked the pally became, the weight of her mistake in choosing to bear a child seeming to crush the air out of her lungs. The pain she could feel in her heart and memory is what drove her to seek out the blue, as much as she would have liked to avoid him, the golden girl needed to make sure if she didn’t survive that someone would look after her babe. She flicked her ears back and scowled. There were a few horses she would rather her foal not go to and seeing how the lead had eyes for a few in her shit list, Winter wanted to make sure.

The pale girls words were very soft when they reached Winters ears and they pulled at her heart strings. The palomino mare sighed and roller her eyes at the hormones making her crazy but listened to them and moved out of her hideaway at a brisk trot towards the group. She felt the need to defend the poor girl from the roans seeing as none of her encounter with the pair ever seemed to liven her mood. Winter knew the old man could be a bit rough and wished to shield the pale mare from it. See stupid baby emotions taking over my brain. No way I can take control of the world like this.

The yetie of a mare walked that last few strides and came up alongside the newcomer to face her herd mates rather than the girl. Perhaps her actions would silently show her support of the perlino rather than facing her with the others like some sort of inquisition. Her coat was quite fluffy with the snow and ice of her homeland clinging to almost every strand of her hair, probably not the softest looking mare at the moment but she wanted to try to be more kind. Her piercing blue eyes glared at the roans in acknowledgement of their presence before turning her head to smile warmly at the young mare. She tries to show through her body support and welcome but again with the ice and snow claiming her form she was unsure of how that would convey. “Where had you intended to go heart? You have reached the Inlet and im sure if you are lost our dear Solgar here would offer you refuge till your home can be sorted.” Her last words earned the blue roan a pointed look. The golden mare smiled once more at the pink skinned lady. “My name is Winter, what is yours?” She had a feeling that if this mare was meant to stay here her and the young buckskin would probably get on very well. Truth be told the bone faced mare wished to have more mares around that were not so catty.
