i only miss you when you're near [any]

Rosaline has a habit of making rash decisions.

It has ended well in the past, and so she has never learnt her lesson. Debonaire and her visit to the Shore had been a spare of the moment, a second of insanity, and yet she had found herself with a home, with company that could never be replaced. Maybe this choice would reap an equally positive end.

She can’t, at a first glance, see any negative results from accepting Blackmore’s offer. He had seemed decent, a little nervous but everyone needs help in order to crack open their shell, and Rosaline could not help but picture them together, laughing and playing and smiling.

The swim to the Atlantis was long, and tiring, it was further than she remembered from the Crossing past Tinuvel and then to Atlantis. She had thought she had lost Blackmore amongst the surf. Rosaline doesn’t venture any further than the beach. Instead she stands, her breath coming out in heavy bursts, her muscles aching and the salt water beading on her coat. But her smile is still fixed firmly in place, as she turns to watch the ocean and it isn’t long until she spots him again.

They continue onwards, and he speaks of his brother Legion and Rosaline with such affection. “I’d love to meet him,” she says.

When they get to the Ridge, and Blackmore turns to face her expectantly, she does not disappoint. Her smile is as bold as ever and she moves to bump her shoulder against his, “It is wonderful!”
