We are trying. Another clear feature is the black markings around the mouth, and up through the nose. Thats clearly a cougar feature. One pic they took shows the animal crouched some, and the feet are clearly pretty large. All the witnesses say the tail was 2-3 ft. The pictures do not show it well since they took them from the front. When the animal retreated they got a better look at it. Rather than guess forever, the plan is to gather more evidence at that site. Some natural features are available to get a clear size. Also note the lack of numerous spots like you see on a bobcat. This cat has some stripes, but some possibly faded spots. Very interesting animal for sure. Cams are being deployed to see if better pics can be had. Replies:
