From a summers thread

Her ears flicked back at and her momentary weakness at showing some concern at his injury. My bad. Winter could easily tell why she had been avoiding him now. Unlike the fickle colt who had taking a temporary claim to the inlet, he was as abrasive as the coarse sand the lingered on the shores. She couldn’t remember the last time she had perked her ears up. Maybe they will just stay like this forever now. She cant help herself. “Imagine how the brook must be feeling now. Probably pretty violated I would think.” Her words are terse and the bone face does regret it once it slips out but not much she can do about it now.

Winter had never felt so lonely in a herd her whole life. Of course she knew it was probably all her own doing. Maybe if she wasn’t so rude? She didn’t let it show as she walked among them on the days she ventured out of her escape but some nights she would take to sulking about the entrance to her lair and gazing gloomily down from her perch. Not that I care if im alone, the quiet is nice. They are all just as callused as myself. The yeti eyes the roan as he takes a hobbling step towards her, the action causing the mare to expose her chompers at the stallion. She had not intended her words to drawn him towards her.

“It has come from the stupid motherly thing that eats at my brain.” She silences her inner words cautioning her from taking the steps necessary to bring her gold side flush with his blue one. Winter glares at the roan and presses her belly against his so he can feel the life kicking her ribs to dust. Her words are low and sharp. “This isn’t my first foal you dunce. The first one nearly killed me. I only lived because I was younger and some stupid horses happened to find my half dead carcass being pulled out to the sea.” The prickly mare brushes past him with a sharp twitch of her tail. The feel of his flesh against hers makes her skin crawl till just cant stand flush against him any longer. Winter swivels her body to face him, her body shaking just slightly with the emotions coursing through her at his words. “Just because I CAN get knocked up dosnt mean I should. My hips are to narrow for a foal to pass with ease.” Winter snorts at his last words. A cynical upward tilt to her lips. “It’s a little too late for cold feet roan. This foal is coming whether I want it too or not.” Her body stays tense but inside she can feel herself deflating with a downwards mood swing. She keeps her chilly glare locked onto him but she cant control the terror that lurks behind the glaciers. This tough mare shit is so tiring Her body is exhausted and when she sighs her whole body sighs with her. Winter drops her head in defeat with muted words slipping from her proud mouth.

“I am afraid.”
