Yscha is not oblivious to the way Vercingetorix's gaze momentarily flickers to the bay colt by her side. She can see how he looks at him, and she becomes uneasy. How will he react? Will he chase the colt away? Will he snap at him, perhaps make a threatening statement or gesture? Yscha couldn't be sure, there were endless possibilities as to the outcome of the situation. She shifted her weight back and forth, preparing to jump in front of the red dun male if she had to. At this point in her life, her son was more important than her loyalty to Vercingetorix. She would defy him if it meant protecting her child, and that was that. Everything else came second to Oskar's safety. Yscha was not afraid to make that fact known.

When he simply shifted his eyes back to her face and spoke a simple hello, Yscha wanted to sigh in relief. Of course, she didn't, her calm demeanor never changing. She simply shifted again, relaxing her posture slightly, and listened to what he had to say - which wasn't much. Even in their last meeting, he hadn't spoken very much. He did seem to be the quiet type, but then again, the young mare's assumptions could be totally off; after all, they'd only ever talked once before.

Grunting, Yscha dipped her head slightly in response to his previous statement. Yes, we are well. What about yourself? Keeping busy? she asked sweetly, trying to make conversation with him as best she could. She knew Oskar's presence made things a tad... awkward. After all, he was not the son of the stallion before her, and most stallions were wary when it came to the offspring of other males, especially when the offspring themselves were male. Not that they could really be blamed; as the colts grew, they could pose quite a threat.
