we'll stay young, go dancing

Ah, sweet sleep. It was something Yscha had not seen in what felt like years. The new mother had been unexpected for the demands of motherhood and while she had managed to keep up with her son, she could feel herself being worn down bit by bit. Her mood had become sour as the days passed, and she only had lack of sleep and adequate food to thank for that. She found herself snapping out at those who approached, but quickly apologizing, muttering something about needing some down time. Thankfully, today, she got that down time.

One of the other more experienced Forest mares had offered to take Oskar off her hooves for a short time, and Yscha had gratefully accepted, moving herself to a secluded area where she knew she would be able to get some rest. She settled herself into a bed of thick grass and flowers, sighing contently as she allowed her eyelids to flutter closed. She could feel unconsciousness creeping up on her, and she welcomed it with open arms. Ah, yes.

But just as quickly as it started, it had ended. Yscha's rest was disturbed by a shrill whinny not too far off. Groaning, she rolled over onto her side, stretching herself out as much as she could. Damn it, she had just been getting to sleep, too. Although she was a little more than tempted to just lay here and make an attempt at falling back asleep, she knew that she had work to do. Duty called, and when duty called, it could not be ignored. So she pushed her weary, sleep-deprived body up and forced herself to start walking towards the source of the call.

It wasn't long before she arrived at the clearing, but it seemed she wasn't the first to show up. A mare she'd seen before, but did not know the name of, was standing, waiting, it seemed. Near her was another mare she'd never seen before in the forest, her coat one of soft silver, and Yscha couldn't help but think she was very pretty. She dipped her head in greeting to the both of them, trying her best to subdue a large yawn. Hello, she said simply as she halted. I am Yscha. You called?
