somehow, it seemed warmer. Even under the shadows cast by the tall pines of the forest, the twins felt the hot sun on theirs backs. They had long lost their baby fluff now, growing into more sleeker and smoother skin. The black colt gratefully leaped for joy when he no longer sweat because of his fur; His sister however missed the smooth texture of fuzz that had covered them. Now where was her warmness that would comfort her on cold nights? Cuddling up to her brother was not going to cut it for to long.

Tossing a look over a bay shoulder, Costello eyes her brother as he happily follows behind her, his teeth, like always fastened into the small of her tail. It was his way of getting around their woodsy home. So many roots and the occasional rocks stood in his way all the time. Co could not understand what her brother was going through just as he didn't understand her lack of speech. The twins were simply a strange pair of foals, and were glad that the other mares of the forest had taken to them so well despite their differences. Life seemed well for them despite their lack of dam and what they had yet to know, a father.

"Hot sissy", Abbott finally speaks up, tugging a bit hard on his twins dark tail until she turned to stare at him with an annoyed look. They had come to a stop at the edges of a small clearing, where a small brook quietly ran through. Not one horse in sight. The colt had spotted the running water, and it didn't take long before Costello got what he meant by 'hot'. Giving him a small nod, her brother left her side and rushed off toward the water.

The bay filly stayed in the shade though, simply watching in utter silence as her twin had fun. She wondered if this was how it was going to be for now on, him having fun while she idly sat by. She couldn't squeak out in amusement, or even utter his name. She seemed alone with her disability while Abbott had gotten off so easily with only a blinded side. Huffing a heavy sigh, she leaned against the rough bark of a pine, her eyes watching the black colt kick up the cold waters.
