The day is growing old, the sun nearly disappearing along the horizon as it bleeds colors across the sky. It has left a sense of calm about the land and even the salty water has grown still, making for the swim to the Ridge quite easy unlike the mare’s last attempt. The tug of the current still flashes in Adelaide’s mind, her memory and muscles recalling the feeling of helplessness at the water’s mercy but she must not let such fear take over. She has Kaden to take care of and it gives the mare a new strength.


Pulling her wet form from the water and onto the shore, Adelaide pauses to look across the land. Blackmore’s scent is strong, giving Ade the knowledge that she had come to the right place. With that at least easing some of her worry the mare looks back to check upon her foal but her eyes do not meet upon his coat. Panic flashes in the mother's mind, making her heart nearly jump from her chest. Did he drowned or was he back upon Luthien with Blitzen?


Adelaide lets loose a shrill call, her cupped ears listening as it echoes back towards her but she had hoped to hear her son's returning voice. Turning, the mare trots down a small length of the shoreline, her hooves kicking up sand to stick against her legs but still she can not see him. Turning back towards the island Ade hopes that Blackmore has heard her. Surely he will help her find the missing boy. But a thought slowly creeps into her mind, of how the stallion had not found her nor her son when she had washed away from his side. Would he even care that her boy was missing or see it as less of a threat? Ears pinning back against her poll, Ade couldn't help but let her fear turn into anger against someone so innocent. At least let him explain his point, or that was what she would think if she were rational and not panicked.
