Anyone catch the "American Cougar" segment on Nat Geo Wild last night? All about the research and tracking they are doing of the M.L's in Wyoming. They sedate and fit them with a collar that tracks their moves for 3 years. Showed men following tracks and they commented that M.L.'s like to walk on downed tree logs as it raises them a bit higher, sure enough there were tracks on the log. They tracked a male weighing in at 170lbs. - a big boy; the size of my huge dogs!Lots of close up pics of these beautiful animals. Their faces are exquisitely beautiful. They are prey for the packs of wolves out there and try to avoid them; often abandoning their kill before they have eaten as much as they can from it. Guess it's a good thing wolves around here seem to be as rare as the seldom seen Mountain Lions.
