From a summers thread

“Why do we have to wait mother?” Her bald face was nestled against the shag of her dams coat when the pair came to a halt not far off from the roan. The paint knew of the stallion. She knew he was the leader and that she was his daughter but the filly did not know why Winter had been keeping her locked away. Her blue eyes frowned with the mirrored facial expressions of her mother. She snuck side glances at her mother and tired her damnedest to imitate her sour face. Her efforts were….less then effective.

The gold scowled and flicked her tail towards her filly as the approaching hoof falls of Earthshine hit her ears. The cranky mare had hoped to slowly introduce the blue to his flesh and blood alone so the intrusion was not something to put her in the best of moods. Her ears pinned back as she whipped her head around to look at the black. Sharp words ready to leap from her mouth. They way the mare carried herself towards the alpha grated on the golds nerves so she drew herself up to full imposing stature leveling her cold blue gaze to the pitch mare. Winter could feel Panthere moving along her side away from her and took that moment to glance back and glare at the approaching roan for interrupting her. Again. Her head snaked out to push the filly back behind her keeping the paint separated from the two horse encroaching on the pale mares space. She could see the stallion stiffen as he catches sight of her loudly painted daughter, narrowing her eyes at him in a silent dare to make a remark. A light flick forward of her ears acknowledged that Solgar had said something and the cocking of her eyebrow and indication that she had something more than sassy to respond with. “Did you doubt me stallion?”

The painted filly pushed against her mothers shoulder so she could peek around her to get a look at the dark roan who she was a part of her. Panthere nosed Winters shoulder and took the final steps around her oblivious of the death glare she was receiving and the flash of teeth intent on pulling her back. She wanted to meet her dad and she wanted to meet him now. Deep blue eyes looked up at him with the tilt of her head her white limbs took her right up under his nose. “Hello father.” She didn’t understand the hullabaloo about not getting next to him, he seemed safe enough. A strawberry ear flicked back before her nose as a colt approached the group. The young filly smiled at him and scampered over to push a bald face close to his. “Hi!”
