tell my love to wreck it all

He doesn't seem upset, but she asks anyways - knowing she needs an answer, even if it ruins her. She doesn't think she'd be able to stand having him angry at her. If he is, she knows she will only be able to ask his forgiveness. Nothing else will change what she has done, nothing can take back the time she spent lost and alone out in the harsh wilderness. She supposes, if he is upset, his anger is justified. She did abandon him - and her son - after all.

He whispers a soft no against her skin, the simple word seeming to lift a world of weight off her heavy shoulders. She smiles a little against his skin, a breathy giggle escaping her as he lips at strands of silvery hair. I'm glad. she murmurs, before finally succumbing to her urge to sleep.

When she awakes, it is dark, the sun having dipped below the distant horizon long ago. She stands for a few moments with eyes closed, listening to the sounds of the forest that surrounds her, breathing in the musky scent that so often brought her comfort. She has not the faintest clue how long she has been asleep. Has it been hours? Days? It has definitely been more than a few moments, as indicated by the setting of the sun. Shaking herself out, the speckled mare opens her eyes, staring blindly out into the darkness as her eyes attempt to adjust to the change in lighting. She cannot see him, but she knows he is there, simply because his smell envelopes her. She turns her face towards him - or at least, in the direction she thinks he is standing, and reaches out in an attempt to make contact. "How long have I been asleep?" she asks, even though she knows it has been quite some time.
