Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

Note: Susil Crags will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Baltair moved easily beside his brother, two silent shadows with golden eyes. Rarely did the twins have anything to say to one another; theirs was an unspoken bond. There were no secrets between them, no mysteries. The need for verbal communication had vanished long ago. They were as one -- two halves of a whole.

Naturally, the obsidian brothers gravitated toward the crags -- one of the most physically demanding landscapes for miles around. A favorite past-time of theirs had always been pushing themselves physically, competing wordlessly with one another, betting to see who would make it the longest.

But of course, they were always perfectly matched.

This time, however, their game was forgotten before it had even begun. Catching the scent of a female, Baltair stood motionless, working to extract the delicate scent from its surrounding smells. He knew his brother had noticed the scent as well, there was no need to ask.

Wordlessly, the pair turned in her direction, picking up their pace as they went. A thrill of electricity twisted in Baltair's gut -- he had always been rather fond of the more elegant gender. That was where he and his brother differed slightly. Where Will could be cold and taciturn, Baltair was typically charming and charismatic.

Baltair, feeling giddy, felt his lips pulling into a wily grin. His gait became more erratic as they drew nearer, interspersed with little hops and leaps of impatience. They found her picking her way carefully down the steep slope of the crags, moving deliberately away from them. Evidently she was not feeling particularly sociable.

Baltair slid to a stop, loose rocks and snow slipping under his large paws. His tail arched high over his back, waving and twitching with anticipation. His brother called down to the female, offering a single-worded greeting. Baltair tilted his head, grinning down at the female with impish delight dancing in his eyes.

"Doon'cha know it's not smart ta' tern yer back on a stranger?" He laughed, his Gaelic-accented words rolling easily over his tongue.
