Life is nothing but a Game

Slowly each snow flake fell, a tiny spiraling dance from the heavens above. Fundamental stood along the pines, his eyes cast up to watch the frozen water fall and softly land without a sound upon the ones already clustered around his feet. The stallion had not realized how much he had truly missed the wonders that only Tinuvel could present all year around and the delicate moments that it rarely shared. But just like every sacred moment this one did not last long. The scent that intruded upon him was one that he had encountered several times in the past day. So far his curiosity had not won out but as of this moment it was.

Dropping his face so that he could turn his vision towards the direction the smell was coming from, his white legs began to carry his thickened body in an unhurried fashion. Fundamental was unconcerned about whom it may be. Without a herd to protect there was really no threat in someone else being here and besides it was a woman’s scent he had picked up and nothing else. It wasn’t as if she could take the land from him, though he did not underestimate the wills of the opposite gender.

As he stepped away from the trees and onto the cold wet beach Fundamental made his way down along the edge. The crashing waves reminded him of many things in his past but he would not dreg up what was not of the current now. The curiosity of the visitor was still too strong and so he turns his brown eyes away from the sea and farther up ahead until he can see her form curled up on the beach. It caused his ears to flick forward while he raised his head to get a better look but he doesn’t have to gawk long. It seemed she wanted him to get a better look.

Fundamental stops where he is, seeing no point of walking any farther as she charges him. Undaunted, he simply looks at her as if he is bored and even suppresses a yawn but he is not trying to be rude. Her display of aggression is lost upon him, his need to dominate her none existent though he does wonder what had caused her to behave that way. His eyes search hers but really he doesn’t even know what he is looking for and slowly a smile creeps along his face as if he had finally found humor.

“Very impressive, Miss.” He says calmly though his eyes never leave her. Despite his relaxed muscles it would only take the blink of an eye for him to react to anything she might try. “But completely unnecessary.” It is all he has to say. Straight and to the point, Fundamental sees no reason in sharing names if she is only meant to leave anyways.
