Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

If the icy wolf had been confused more, it was hard to imagine what he must have been feeling right now. Here he was, stood before his friend, and she didn’t seem to acknowledge him properly. Had she not heard him? No… that couldn’t have been right; she turned to look at him… why wasn’t she responding? That didn’t make any sense at all…

Then, all of a sudden, as though someone had pushed a button to allow the wolfess to move, she bound over to him, and buried her face in his fluffy winter coat in an odd sort of embrace. Tundra felt his cheeks heat up a little at the unexpected contact, but he returned the gesture as best he could, his tail giving a few short wags that- for once- were not at all forced.

“O-Of course I’m here; did… did you think I was someone else?” he asked, utterly dumbfounded by this statement, his brows lightly knit together in a frown, which was quickly replaced with a small, slightly unsure smile “I missed you too…”

“Oh… I see…” he responded, tilting his head in consideration to Azar’s words, “I suppose this place is a nice place to think… d-didn’t I tell you about how dangerous it is in winter when we were at Wolf Mountain, though? N-Not that I can really scold you for that when I’m here… I guess… I just didn’t expect to see you on Ice Mountain… you… you don’t like the cold?”

That was right, wasn’t it? It had to be; he remembered things about Azar better than most.

“Y-You have?” the statement about her looking for him struck him as odd, but… he supposed he was relieved that somebody cared. Suddenly, it hit him that he hadn’t answered her question, “O-Oh! I’m… actually here to look for gemstones… there are supposed to be a lot of them on this mountain…”

He smiled a small smile, though inwardly he was overjoyed at being reunited with the wolfess. “I’m glad I found you here…” he admitted, a little shyly, glancing down at his paws briefly, “I wasn’t sure if you’d moved on to a new area or not…”
