just a tidbit here, a researcher has compared modern DNA from cougars in Michigan, (They believe they are native), with ancient DNA from an "eastern cougar". It was a match. Again, New Brunswick and Quebec have also been matched with some of the South Dakota and others. Quebec and/or New Brunswick aren't very far from New England, well within the well known range of a male dispersing cougar. So why is it so shocking that they are in New England? Maybe they respect the US/Canada Border? I think not. There have been credible reports and evidence back to at least 1927, so lets get over it. I've named references for that last post, they aren't made up. Replies:
