A bout of wind swept through the dune valley and sprayed sand over the two horses, Xanti closing his eyes and turning his head back to its original position. The mare was probably fine, but the sand had left a layer of grit on his face. With a chuckle his ear turned back to listen to the mare's response. "Ah, that's not too far away from here!" It seemed like she hadn't heard anything about deserts, but it was fine by him. Breaking into a slower trot and swinging to the right, he weaved through the sand. Occasionally he climbed a dune and slipped down it, sand flying everywhere. Hopefully the dark mare was enjoying the trip across his home as much as he was.

Moving along a curve, the greyish tan stallion found a large oasis waiting for him. His grin grew as he moved up to the calm waters, dipping his head to drink his fill before turning around to the mare. "This is where I enjoy being most." He said, eyes happily glancing away to swept across the area. Here was where he had met the red dun and here was where he could watch other animals flock. It was intriguing to watch different species come up and drink from water he shared with them and it would be even more interesting if one day a herd arrived to drink from the oasis. He had only really seen an oryx or two most of the time.

Turning back to the water, he waded in and dropped to roll in it. The sand had clumped together and stuck to his coat, though it wasn't as appealing as mud. His herd had done it to keep cool in the desert and he had never grow out of it. Although sometimes the sand stuck in odd clumps and wasn't as stable as mud, it was a close second. Rolling back to his stomach, the stallion stayed laying down in the water. "The water's cool today, you should try it out." His dark eyes turned once more to the mare, grinning and shaking his mane of loose clumps stuck in it.
