Hi Steven,I guess a trail cam would come in handy. Are there a lot of deer in the area you speak of? If deer were scarce I imagine a M.L. would settle for coyote, they go for cows, sheep, chickens etc.I guess it's a matter of what's available. I've been doing some reading up on their habits lately and while I knew they often drag their kill up into a tree to keep it from other predators I had no idea they could hide it 30 FEET up!!! Their power is amazing!Did you happen to see any tracks? Best advice I have to offer is BE PREPARED!Thing I hear most often is "by the time I got my camera out it was gone..." Carry it in your hand or on a belt.If you see signs a M.L. was in the area - prints - then photograph them with a dollar bill or coins beside them so the size can easily be determined.Better yet, carry a cloth ruler knitters often own. It can be folded up to nothing and weighs next to nothing.Best scenario is to get a plaster cast of them.Keep your eyes open for disturbed areas;caches buried under leaves and don't just look for signs on the ground - look 30 feet up!Good luck!
