Whoever said peace and quiet were a good thing was dead wrong. There is nothing good about silence, not when your entire life from day to night is like being on mute. It was truly maddening.
Somehow though Cari went on, keeping to herself after departing from her mothers side, no longer able to take the pitiful looks the spotted maiden sent her way and her attempts at trying to get Cari to use other forms of communication. Cari was having none of it; she was fine and didn't need anyone's help. So in the dead of night, Cari left, taking to the cold icy waters and letting it carry her in its current to whatever island. When her hooves met a sandy beach she didn't think or stop, her mind set on finding somewhere secluded and away from all things living. With nothing around that could make sound, Carisa could live her life happily instead of struggling.
Instead of trees, rolling hills of sand is what surrounded her, and she stopped when she felt that she far from the beach. Looking around her there seemed to be little life here, but the faintest scent of horses flooded her nostrils. With eyes wide, she scrambled up the nearest sandy hill, instantly on the lookout for the owners of these scents. This place had others, others who she was hoping to avoid.
Up here the winds tickled her thin skin and tugged at the long hairs on her leg's. It may not be that cold as other places were but the wind was very much cool and had her shivering where she stood. Blue orbs continued there frantic look around though, undeterred by this.
