THERE IS NO WHY.

If K1A1 had a sense of humor, she might have laughed at Dögun, surrounded by large, roan mares. Fortunately for them all, K1A1 could care less. What mattered to her was that the herd was a manageable size. There was not an overabundance of them, nor was it so sparse that it would make them an easy target for predators. They were a functional group, it seemed, and K1A1 could certainly do worse.

As the others gathered, she looked to Dögun as he spoke. Stay close, he instructs. K1A1 nodded, having no issue with the task of keeping close quarters. There was functionality to it, and if the wolves did decide to advance on them, they would certainly need to be pretty famished. No pack of wolves would go after an entire herd of horses if there were easier prey to be had. Fortunately, none of the mares had foaled this spring, and there would be no danger in wolves going after their young.

The socialization aspect of his request however, she would tolerate as a mere side effect of close proximity. She had little to say to anyone, and thus found no reason to speak up unless someone else had something important they would like to address with her, or a task that needed accomplishing.
