Freya chuckles at the chestnut's words, bobbing her head a little. "I'm not sure. Maybe. I mean..." she pauses, searching for words, but eventually gives up and heaves a sigh. "It's hard to explain. Let's leave it at that, shall we?" She hopes he will not press the matter. She knows what he's thinking - her and Dogun do make an interesting-looking couple, with him being much shorter than herself. She knows that, come fall, there will be many laughs and odd looks pointed in their direction, others will mock them for not being able to have a child of their own because of their differences. Just the mere thought makes the golden mare's blood boil; she will figure out a way, and if everything fails, then she will settle for having no children at all as long as Dogun is around.

She presses her lips together, ears pivoting atop her head as he speaks again, drawing her from her thoughts. She gives another light laugh and shifts her weight to a more comfortable position. "I am not a native of the Islands, I came here on my own during winter. So I haven't been here very long." she says, blue eyes meeting his. "But I am thoroughly enjoying my stay, so far. The Islands are much more interesting than my old home ever was." She sighs as the thought of home crosses her mind. She misses her parents terribly, but knows she can never go back - not unless she wants to spend the rest of her life wandering from place to place, always being in danger one way or another, and never having a true home. That is not the life she wants for herself.

"How did you and Dogun meet?" She quickly changes the subject, hoping to get her mind off the depressing thoughts that lingered within her skull.
