Thanks, Jean, lovely to receive your package this morning, especially the signed photo of Tim which will go straight in a frame. I enjoyed Tim commentating this year, especially with Jimmy Connors, as it was nice that Tim could get a word in which isn't that easy to do when he's commentating with Johnny Mac! Jimmy was also more serious and more gentle which, to me, is more on Tim's wavelength.

& yes, tennis is so not the same without Tim. I have watched tennis since being a very young girl but Tim arriving on the scene was wonderful, to me he was the perfect tennis player, an elegant serve volleyer, whose driving desire was to do well for himself but also, & even more so, I felt, for Britain. His quiet determination to make GB a force to be reckoned with at DC inspired everybody & touched a lot of hearts too, none more so than mine.
