STARdust

Stardust was excited as the other painted filly popped up into existence. Maybe one of these strange mares had brought her too. She offered Harlequin a smile and might have answered her then and there if the other hadn’t said something. Right the adults. Stardust smiled and spun about. She had seen her father drop his head like that when he wanted people to go some where.

She knew somewhere.

“Follow me!” the filly whispered as she spun around. “I know a spot!” With glee she surged forward ahead of the other two, only stopping to make sure they were still following.

They didn’t leave the adults too far behind. But they were off the rocky beach near the river. Stardust smiled, stopped and turned to face the other two. She smiled at Harlequin.

“I’m Stardust!” She proclaimed proudly. “And I’ve been the only filly in the Bay forever!” She sounded like it had been exhausting or boring. “So where are you two from? Are you staying long?”

She hoped the answer to the latter was yes.
