a lover sinking in the sea

This is the first time Freya has seen the speckled mare smile. She looks lovely when she does. Really, she thinks, this lady should smile more often. She looks as if she is about to speak when suddenly, Dogun's scent wafts through the air. This seems to have startled Freya's smaller companion - in the blink of an eye, she has pressed herself up against the sabino's side, peeking cautiously out at Dogun as he joins their group. What odd behavior, she thinks to herself, but chooses not to comment on it. Everyone has their quirks, after all.

When Dogun speaks, there is a certain sourness to his voice that Freya is unfamiliar with. She has never heard that tone before, and it causes an icy chill to run down her spine, but she chooses to ignore it for the time being. She will address the cause of his foulness when they get some time alone. Turning back to Catalan, she listens as she talks of the strange object laying in the sand. A horseshoe? People? Humans? They were all words she had never heard before, that much is clear by the expression on her face.

"That would be wonderful." She says, turning back to Dogun with a small smile on her face, hoping his mood had lightened some since his arrival. She hated seeing him so crotchety, it was not the Dogun she knew and loved. Glancing towards Catalan, Freya offers her a comforting smile. "If it's all right with you, I would love to hear all you know about these... humans." She pauses, the word feeling alien on her tongue. "Perhaps we should start heading inland, though?" They would likely be more comfortable within the sanctuary of trees and tall grass.
