and the rest is rust and stardust

As the autumn breeze skirted across the Ridge, Pilar grazed by herself cheerfully, enjoying the calm quiet that hung over the land like a silk curtain. It was good to stay put for a while—to explore Atlantis and get to know Kasabian and her home. She was beginning to understand why so many preferred the comfort of a land they knew and weren’t so stricken with wanderlust.

She flicked her tail to and fro as she picked the sweet grass from underneath rocks and from lush patches, and with another sweeping breeze all at once a familiar scent woke her from her steady lull. Magnus! Pilar’s head shot up from the grass, her curved ears alert and her large brown eyes wide with anticipation as her gaze swept the landscape.

Picking of a lofty trot, Pilar followed the wind back, closer to the shore until at last she saw his familiar outline on the horizon.

“Hi Magnus!” Pilar called out to him excitedly, picking her pace up and moving to his side as if they hadn’t a moment to spare. Who knows, with the two of them together, they might not have more than a moment.

“It’s so good to see you again!” she started, bumping noses with him once she was close enough. “What brings you here? Do you want to see those markings?”

As it turns out, Pilar had done a little bit of exploring without him.
