FIRE BURNS WHERE IT FALLS

Maslakhat does not believe in accidents, at least not in the sense that things happened randomly and without purpose. Adelaide may have made a mistake in coming here, but she had to have at least attempted to come for a reason, right? A purpose drove her to this very spot just as it had driven the bay stallion here. Did he expect to gain ownership of this land when he had first set foot upon it? Certainly not. And perhaps Adelaide had not expected to meet a stallion. In either case, they stood apart from each other now and Maslakhat finds that he does not mind her being here, despite his lack of knowledge regarding her motives. He bumped noses with her before she began her explanation.

“Ah well, I can help you with that. Care to walk to with me?”

The bay stallion turned and began walking to the small pool of water he knew was nearby. He looked over his strong, dappled shoulder and smiled at her. Oh stop Maslakhat, you charmer.

“Nice to meet you Adelaide. I’m Maslakhat,” he paused a moment to consider whether or not he should be completely truthful with her. As she stared straight into his eyes, he stared back unblinking, and decided he had no reason to lie.

“And there is something else I could be doing, but that’s nearly always the case. It can wait.”
