The dappled mare kept walking as if she had not seen him, it was not until he cleared his throat did she turn to face him. Her face was void of any emotion except for the bit of guilt that reflected back at him, in those chocolate eyes. For a moment the silence spread between them, he broke the silence, trying his best to make her feel welcome here in the Inlet. He knew that their initial meeting had been in a confusing time of his life, unsure of who to trust, but he had decided that he would try again. She began by wanting to speak with him, and to thank him. With a surprising twist she apologized, he tries to hide the surprise that he felt.
"You are welcome, I am happy that you have decided to come out of hiding." A smirk crosses his lips, he was of course kidding, he knew that coming to a new home was a challenge. But the one word that bothered him, out of her whole sentence, was that she had been under duress... What or who had caused her to feel in such a way? "This may be to personal, especially to share with a stranger, but why were you under duress?" He questions her, he knew that she could choose not to divulge such information, but a small sliver of hope remained that she would trust him.
His ochre eyes pass over her, when she nods to her swollen belly, he had honestly not noticed it before. Even if he had, he would not of cared, she had sought out safety, he provided it to her. Pregnant or not. He chuckles at her words, he would of course let her stay as long as she needed. "Oh Asha, you can stay here in the Inlet, as long as you see fit. You may come to love the Inlet as much as I do." A smile spreads across his lips, warming his face and his chocolate eyes.
