Here you can post questions, comments or concerns for the Global Mods. You can email us at lostislands.staff@gmail.com if the matter is private, though please let us know as this address is not checked daily. You are also welcome to @Global Mods in the Discord server, or message us privately, but please be patient if we are busy or not online.

This is where you need to post to officially put yourself on away. If you are going to be away from the site or unable to post regularly for an extended period of time, you may go on away for up to one month, during which your characters will be protected from things like battles, raids and escapes. After this you and your characters will be considered inactive, and you will need to rejoin should you return.

For the sake of clarity, please clearly state 'away' or 'semi-away' in the subject line of your post, and make a new post stating 'back' on your return. While you are away you cannot post in-character, and any in-character posts will be classed as you returning and your characters will no longer be protected from that point.

You may also let us know here that you are 'semi-away', meaning posts from you will be slow, but all normal rules still apply to you.

If you wish to quit the game, please leave us a message here to let us know, though be aware that any characters without lineage (i.e. those who were not born or bred in-game) will be deleted from the Members page. All other characters will be listed as inactive unless you request for them to be deleted.

well

I too am a fast writer. I can get a 200 word post out in 5-8 minutes. So, yes, it is possible to do a block in a set of quick-paced posts. The problem I see is that, say, if you work retail or in any other job where you don't have unrestricted access to a computer for long hours. It doesn't matter how fast a writer you are if you can't even see it's happening or are in a situation where you can't respond.

NOTE: This is an example using only my situation as I only know my own.

I think there should be a way to make it favor the "meta-game" less.

Maybe she can go with the other stallion "willingly" but the original stallion has say 24 hours to go to the other stallion's territory and reclaim her no questions asked? Or maybe just 12. Something like that.

Yes, it is possible to block a pre-written raid. But it's more about luck and availability. There's another part, though, that's more concerning to me: Raiding your own characters.

For example:
Let's say Olaf wins Precious/Freya. And let's say I really didn't want that to happen because pre-existing plots. I can have Grai drop into the Dunes looking for Vesti (again). He'd run across Precious, realize she was stolen/fought for, raid her and she would go willingly. He would then return her to Dogun. Since, in this example, since I'd writing to myself, Polecat/Vandy probably wouldn't have a chance to block this.

Polecat, Vandy, note, I would not do this. Never. Ever. Ever. I'm not that kind of player. I'm just posting a hypothetical situation where the current rules have an interesting loophole.

Is this wrong? By the rules of fair play, Yes. I think, the idea of pre-arranged raids follows the spirit of this example. I'm not saying ban them completely. Just a little time delay between when the mare can willingly follow/thread end or a window of opportunity for the original stallion to get her back without fighting/stealing might make things a bit fairer for those out of the loop.

Just a thought. Also, you really SHOULD change that bit about raiding your own characters. It isn't fair.
