Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

Live through this lie

Was I left behind?
Someone tell me, tell me I survived.

The swim was long, much longer than I had anticipated. Sure, I've taken a dip in the rivers that ran through the Prairie before, but this was the first time I've ever left Luthien in my short lifetime. It's not that I never dreamed of doing so. I am just as curious as the next yearling. But I had no real reason to. I had everything I could ever need - or want - in the Prairie. Mum and Valentine made life pretty easy there.

At first the swim was exhilarating. I followed in Valentine's wake, my thick legs slicing through the depths underneath me and propelling me forward with ease. My nostrils flared and lungs burned as I sucked in the sea salt air. I enjoyed the sensation of the liquid on my coat. It felt as if I was floating for a while, suspended in time, nothing coming or going besides the lapping tide at my face and neck. But eventually the Crossing loomed in view. I took it all in, in all its hazy glory, understanding that this island was about to become my home.

I had no idea what to expect from the Lagoon, but I imagined it was a place with few rules, the occasional brawl and a lot of scum. Or at least that's what mum made it sound like.

I wander alongside Valentine, brown eyes wide and taking in the details of the densely thicketed forest. I have nothing to say to him now. I swallow hard, my tongue flattening at the top of my mouth as I tried not to think about the short good byes back on the shoreline of the Prairie. Mum was no where to be found. I didn't blame her.
