I am the nightmare that became reality

Ruger

stallion | 15.3hh | EE aa TT | son of the wolf

Father had told him too.

Ruger sneered at the thought of his crippled sire. The brute had it coming some day if he thought he could continue to just boss everyone around and think there would be no reprimand. Although, there had been reprimand in this encounter too which is why Ruger sported a throbbing whelp on his neck that reminded him every step he took closer to the shore why he was following through with his father's wishes. Ruger wasn't even sure why he called him that; Felony was nothing close to what a father should be and perhaps not as a lover either. Was that why his mother had abandoned him to the monster and took his brother instead? Because Ruger was too much like the beast? So be it, the painted boy didn't need her anyways.

The salty water was cold when Ruger entered it, making the young stallion pin his ears with displeasure as his legs churned to keep his head afloat while he made his way towards Luthien. It was his first swim anywhere but thankfully when he was but still a nursing foal Felony had taken him to the shore several times and made his recite the names. There was no question in his mind what the distant dot was as it was the farthest. Was his father trying to drowned him? Ruger let out a sharp bark of laughter as he swam; finding it funny that it could very well be the chilling water that took his life instead of the beast that sired him.

But Ruger did not drowned. Instead he made it to the shore and shook away the water that rolled down his flesh to drip upon the sand before letting his eyes roam across the thick tree line that marked the beginning of the territory. With a few snaps of his yearling tail, Ruger made his way into the thickest of them; plunging headlong stubbornly into the vegetation and biting and pawing at anything that did not give way to his growing chest. As the smell of the herd grew stronger though; Ruger finally paused as his head lifted and his eyes searched among the trees for movement. A smirk graced his lips and he gave a bellowing call that should never have belonged to one so young nor sound so much like a predator that inside he truly was.
