In western Mass. in the village of New Marlborough there have been sightings of mountain lions. As mentioned by others the bear and coyote populations have increased tremendously. I have been in this neighborhood for almost 50 years and for the last twenty the sightings have dramatically increased. Indeed there was a pregnant coyote aiming to set up her den under my deck until my presence discouraged her. MLs are a different story as they have been know to attack humans more than bear or coyote ever have.
