Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

Note: Susil Crags will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

and we shed what was left of our summer skin
She is alone in the shallow pool for a moment, her coat saturated to the top of her shoulder and heavy enough to drag her down were it any deeper. It is warm, the small basin heated quite effectively by the rays of sun that beam down across its surface, adding a certain sparkle to the little whitecaps that disturb the water. It is clear enough that shards of light dance across the stone floor, rippling as she moves. Were it not for the intense pounding in her skull, she might’ve stopped longer to admire the little light show.

Instead, she dips her head down low, her nose nearly touching the water as she laps at it with her tongue, taking in mouthfuls at a time. She is parched, starving too but the water will hold her over until she finds something to eat. She doesn’t know how long she’s been out. It felt like years, like she were shrivelling up from lack of food or drink. It hasn’t been nearly that long, though she would venture to guess that at least a few nights had passed since she last saw the sun.

The sound of padding feet and words in a language familiar to her (her own, that is) causes her to pause, her eyes rising to meet those of the other wolf; her muzzle rises an inch, two inches, three - until she is upright again and looking the other female in the eyes. She isn’t submissive - had she been before the...incident? - and doesn’t turn her eyes away from the other wolf. Water drips slowly from the edges of her mouth, rolling down the fur of her throat in slow rivulets before absorbing into her already waterlogged coat. She isn’t challenging the curious newcomer, though she hasn’t made a move to submit to her either.

Neutrality at its finest. Or maybe pure stupidity - hell, she isn’t sure.

”I suppose that depends on your definition of alright,” she says, her voice light and half-joking with an air of cheeriness that doesn’t reach her eyes. ”I’ve managed to find myself in sort of a predicament. You see, I woke up in the cave behind this rather pleasant waterfall and haven’t a clue how I got there. My head hurts, and I feel like I haven’t eaten in a year or more.” She stops then, looking upwards to the sky, considering it for a moment as if studying some new and intriguing specimen. ”On the brighter side, it’s a beautiful day, wouldn’t you agree?”

She drops her gaze back to the other wolf and begins to move towards the shore; the water pulls against her and slows her progress like hands tugging out her grey hair and begging her to stay. Like a disobedient child, she drags herself from it’s moist fingers, stepping just far enough away from the other female to effectively shake herself dry without being completely rude; point for her, or perhaps for the other wolf for being pleasant enough to warrant the consideration. ”I’m sorry, I forgot to ask - who are you? And where exactly are we?”

Sure it might sound like a strange question. She still had to ask.
