The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

Red audits perked listening for the new soldiers response. The faelings midnight skies caught Marx’s motion, his head turned while his slate portals focused on Nova for a split second. “Captain. Good to see you here.” Marx is curt in his reply and is getting battle ready when a white-grey splotched warrioress strides into the clearing. Her mask is plain making the fiery fealing think there is more to her thoughts than being portrayed, but she couldn’t for the life of herself think of it. She wasn’t exactly a master of reading other wolves. The new ess rubbed into Marx making Nova back up slightly, giving them room. There was no telling what this new femme thought of her, but she was curious.

"If you don't mind, Captain, I'd like to spectate. Perhaps you'll find a task for me after your blood gets pumping.” The icy femme’s words almost seemed to drip from her maw, as she look towards Nova. “Welcome to Abendrot. I'm Engima. You're welcome to sit beside me to watch if you want." Nova nodded quietly and padded towards Enigma. She was wary; Enigma hadn’t said much other than niceties, and Nova didn’t trust such falsely represented words. Though there was no reason not to return the kindness. “Thank you for the seat, I’m Nova Prospekt.”

Nova sat rigidly next to Enigma, she felt judging eyes on her pelt. It wasn’t Marx or Grey Wind. “Simple rules- first on the spine loses. Don’t worry, I’ll go easy on you.” Nova moved her eyes to follow the spar that was about to commence. Marx’s jaw held a wry smile as he got into battle position, but not making the move. Grey Wind would start, putting Marx of the defense and Grey Wind on offense for now.

Nova was trying to focus but Enigma’s presence was messing with her. She didn’t feel exactly welcomed and though the wolves of Abendrot didn’t seem the type to welcome, Enigma just seemed to be preoccupied by her presence near Marx. Nova would almost pin the white-grey splotched warrioress’ first look as jealous, but Enigma had been quick to cover her face. Nova wasn’t even sure if any of what she felt was right, but her gut-feeling had gotten her this far. It wasn’t the time to start doubting it now. “Are you and Marx mates?” The question seemed a bit blunt but Nova realized if that was true that Marx and Enigma were mates, they might have pups. And if that was the case then Nova was nothing to Enigma and probably just a soldier to Marx. A certain pang of sadness hit her, but her facial features remained complacent and interested in the spar, taking a few short gaps to look at Enigma.
