I'm coming home......

Braylen

stallion | 15.1hh | palomino tovero | protector of the inlet

It had been a long time since such happiness flooded into Braylen as it did now. Reaching forward he gave her a gentle nuzzle, a deep throated rumbling sound escaping him in his contentment to her vow to follow him. "Then lets go home" he said softly before pulling away; but only enough so as to turn and lead the way to Tinuvel.

During their swim, Braylen stayed as close to Abigail as possible. The water was angry; foam bubbling up from the churning water as they got closer to the cold island. Even as his hooves found purchase on the slippery rocks beneath, the water slammed against his body threatening to toss him under and drag him back out to sea. Only when he stood on the frozen shore beside the mare did he finally get to rest. The stallion wasn't sure if it was exhaustion gnawing at his body or the chilly winds that clawed at his skin that made his legs quiver. Regardless he huddled close to Abigail, trying his best to block her body from the biting wind with his own.

As Braylen stood there miserable and cold, his twitching ears picked up the sound of an angry cry. He recognized the sound as Pagan and instantly his head jerked up so that his crown was as tall as he could hold it. Was their some intruder already threatening to take Pagan's home? "Come on" he said, nudging Abigail before he took off across the unknown territory. What he found caused the stallion to go skidding to a halt in absolute shock.

Before him, some several yards away, Braylen recognized the form of Pagan but what the stallion was fighting was a true mystery to him. Hesitation froze his legs for a few long heart beats as he tried to decide what to do; unsure if he would be helpful or hindering. Pinning his ears, Braylen let out his own battle cry and he launched himself into a canter over to the two fighting species. Whether he knew what he was doing or not, Braylen wouldn't stand by and watch like a coward. Circling around to the otherside as Pagan's hooves made a solid thud into the creatures shoulder, Braylen flung out his own hind hooves in a attempt to kick the beast's opposite side from Pagan. Perhaps with hits coming from both sides, the stallions could overwhelm the creature and drive it away.

At least that was Braylen's hopes anyways.
