At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

wolf

“Thank you… but don’t worry about it Pierce, I can barely feel it!” The ghostly brute turned his gazers towards his princess. She wore an encouraging smile as they came together. His pale coat mingled with her soft crème pelt making a small warmth spread throughout his body from their point of connection. His senses were blurred and heightened all at once, everything falling in and out of focus with each breath he took. Her intoxicating perfume filled his nares making him seemingly drunk. He was the definition of drunk in love. But as he pulled away, a cold burst of air made him shiver inadvertently, but her presence was enough to keep him entranced. The ghostly knight’s conscious mind was lulled by her presence, but he still acted with utmost kindness and manners appropriate for the situation.

Pierce couldn’t have been bothered to be offended by her rumor filled words. He could only suppose that it was a misunderstanding and that he, Pierce, could fix her view point. And it seemed with luck that she was open to hearing what he had to say and more. His rambling voice came to a halt waiting for a bored look to come across Cordelia’s features, but instead he saw a spark. He felt a more personal connection with the crème ess. Her soft vocals allayed his worries and her gentle gaze made the stoic Beta melt into a soft hearted giant. Even playful!

The moss reached Cordelia’s face before she comprehend what was happening. She erupted with giggles and laughter, but before Pierce could continue she gathered her paws and trotted away from him. Her opaque green pools flicked back to Pierce’s glittering embers with a playful defiance which he could only take as a playful challenge. He watched her paws dance across the ground before they carried her away and up the cascades. Pierce felt himself move on instinct, the moss plopped onto the ground, all but forgotten. His silent paws treaded with ease up the staircase falls and in suit of his princess. Pierce didn’t know if Cordelia would really by his Queen, but it was worth the effort and if anything he had made a new friend.

Pierce darted into the tree’s beside the falls and padded in pace with Cordelia. He steps were silent so as not to alert the girl to his whereabouts. He quickened his steps and leapt out beside Cordelia, “Surprise, Miss Cordelia.” Pierce gave Cordelia the brightest smile he could muster. His tall frame towered over her petite bodice, but he padded closer to her allowing her pale fur to mix with her crème palate. “Where are we off to, Miss Cordelia?” He looked down to her pale sylvan orbs, a gentle smile crossing his features.

"Optimism is fatal in my experience," He growls.
