Disaster has struck!
I have to get away from Diveen before my head explodes. Going on the pack hunt helped some with my frustrations but it does nothing for the fact that Atania doesn't seem to want to do anything with me as of late. The summer sun is intense on my dark coat but I can ignore it, torn ears flickering as I trot away from the ravines and toward the shadows of the crags. I remember when Atania and I used to come here a lot. This was our sanctuary, our home, at one point. That is, until she decided we needed a pack for safety.
Of course Covet thought he could just steal what he wanted and I was about to fight for her freedom but Atania decided she wanted to stay. I think it was becuase of what we talked about. I had told her she could never have children again or I would kill them myself for taking her time away from me, her attention. But then we came to a compromise, that she could have children only if she got another to raise them. That way she would still be completely mine and she would get the legacy she's always wanted. I don't understand why someone would want tiny copies of themselves running around. The last creature was quite annoying if you ask me.
Always crying for attention and biting my toes. It's a wonder she even made it through the first day. If Atania hadn't been weak and in need of my care, I probably would have ended the tiny twerp then but alas I didn't and instead Atania had to run away from me and do it herself instead.
When I notice the gathering up ahead, I growl softly to myself in frustration. Why can't someone get a little peace and quiet? I only venture close enough to hear what they're saying, the ones who are actually talking, that is. Most of them seem to want to sit by and just stare. I shake my head and go lie in the shade of an overhang, my tail wrapping around my haunches, golden eyes daring someone to approach at their own risk.
