Heavy hooves landed on the stony shores of Tinuvel. The bitterness that usually bit with the wind was nothing more than a gentle caress against my pale skin. I had tried to stay away, stay where my father had sent us so I could watch over my sister. I owed Shamwari my loyalty, and he owned it. But this place called to something deeper. This island was part of my being.

From the wolves that walked the trails to the mountain caves I had used to hide in, every stone and ever face of this place called to my very blood. My skin trembled under my fur. I did not dare step into the world my father had ruled. I did not wish to feel the death and decay of his roots, the loss of my sister�s spirit. I dared not feel the pull to the land of my home, to answer the call that sang in my blood. Instead I stepped over the trails I had traversed before into the realm of the Bay. It felt so different, but much the same.

I exhale a deep sigh as I stepped deeper into the territory I had once explored as a colt. The trails were still the same. Even after all this time. I flowed over the trails of Tinuvel as my blood flowed through my veins. I bled the tundra, I was the tundra. It was all that I was. As I strengthened with every step, my heart shattered like ice. This was the place I belonged but could not be.

My crystalline eyes reached ahead of me as I galloped over the terrain. Ears pressed back for a second and I raised my voice to tell those of the Bay I was there. They could find me if they wished, I was here for a visit and to feel alive again. Nothing more. I posed no threat to those here. I would do no more than touch the ground and breathe the air.

I was the Ghost of Tinuvel. But I was the Heir to the Inlet.
