DANCE OF THORNS: VODNIK

Jasiri was sure she would adjust to the Inlet as it grew colder and colder (it was in her Percheron blood, after all), but so far it wasn't going well. So, she plunged into the ocean. She always felt bad when she left her land, but she knew Areo Hotah would keep it safe while she was gone. Her legs churned against the current and she lifted her muzzle higher to reduce the amount of salt water splashing into her nostrils.

The draft reached another island once the sun started to dip into the horizon. She pulled herself onto the pebbled beach, glancing at the mountain range she had stumbled upon. The ridges stretched high into the multicolored sky streaked with bold hues. She preferred the ocean's varying shades of blues.

She shook out her blonde mane and flicked her tail to try and dislodge some of the seafoam clinging to her body. If she didn't rid herself of it, she would put herself through the torture of feeling it slowly slide down her sides and drip off her belly. She pawed at the sand in hopes she would see results.

She did not.

The silver mare sighed and lifted her head to observe the island she beached on. The mountains here were not so craggy and dark and especially not so ravenous looking. She arched her neck a little more and bellowed out a thundering neigh, not wanting her call to be swallowed by the range.
