3-4 years ago an animal that I'd originally assumed to be a coyote crossed up close in front of our headlights one night - it was quite large/tall for a coyote and quite beautiful. I've seen a lot of coyotes over the years, this would have been just an absolutely stunning specimen. It was unusual enough it gave my stomach a little flip. We were driving a BMW and it was as tall as the hood on the car. Thinking and reading later I really wondered if it was a wolf or a cross. So no smoking gun here but definitely something to wonder about. Replies:
