Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

for selling his soul to the bog.

By ‘bettering’ the Lagoon, they were crafting its demise.

Neither of the two younger horses could understand the sudden change in events (first the mare was trying to herd Dreadscale, and now she was content with stopping--why?) Of all the things they had heard of the Lagoon (being island natives, after all) all men were welcome, no matter the circumstance. Why the Boss had chosen now to stop the mare and attempt to refuse them, they did not know…

But the pair found it shameful. This was not the band of stallions that were notorious for their wicked, wicked ways.

Maleficent jerked her head back as Kasabian lunged forward, doing a sort of march with his legs. She snapped her teeth at him, ears pinned, and the point he was trying to make was lost. The Hell kind of respect could the white mare give to such a creature?

And so, she laughed. Straight into his face, her hot breath blasting from her mouth like a dragon.

Dreadscale took the moment to shove himself between the them, Maleficent taking a few steps back but her eyes never left the buckskin stallion, not once.

“Last I knew, this was the Lagoon,’ the younger male finally said, his tone almost musing despite the fury that stirred in his belly, ‘do you deny the rights to a newcomer that have been laid down and practiced by your predecessors for eons?”

It didn't matter if Kasabian had said he could stay--he was only looking out for others that might be subjected to the same scrutiny. Kasabian's next response would have to be tactful (though the buckskin had shown anything but, thus far) if wanted the Lagoon to flourish.

He snorted, keeping his head high. Moments ago, before the bite and before Reginleif, Dreadscale had been something less than what he was now. No more. Perhaps he had finally found his balls.

“And,’ Maleficent chimed in, a quaint grin on her face.

“The mare is his.”

Maleficent snorted as Reginleif spoke again, but she had no reply other than to tense her neck and say-without-saying: I dare you to try.
Maleficent & Dreadscale
(we got) friends on the other side.

In the first post, Dreadscale wanted to join the Lagoon and was going to present Maleficent as a trinket. That was still the plan on my end, but like... Kasabian just now showed up and in his posts he's implied they were not welcome (but then he is??) so I'm not really sure what's going on.
