The Rules
  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.
  • We are only as strong as our weakest link. See to it that you are getting stronger in some skill that is useful, whether it is battling, recruiting, charming, etc.
  • The King and Queen have final say in all matters.
This is no ordinary love

Vita Nova asked herself now, in this moment, why she followed Koray home in the first place. She had come across him on the Crossing Isle at perhaps one her most vulnerable moments. She had been so sad -- still grieving the loss of "what could have been" with Nephilim. She was alone, without a home, and without her family. She just needed someone. And Koray happened to be there, alone, and he needed something from her too. It was silly, perhaps, for Vita Nova to hold Koray to an impossible standard then, wasn't it? She had used him just as much as he used her. There was never a healthy period in which the two spent time getting to know one another. Nova had been so quick to want to move on from him to Orhan. But here she was again, lost and feeling vulnerable, and the only one around was Koray.

The steely colored mare allowed a long and low exhale to escape from her parted lips. Her jaws chewed on nothing but air as she considered this. Her crystal blue gaze was hard on the cremello stallion, watching him as he stood so coolly in front of her. She tried her best not to grimace or wince. With a quick swipe of her tail, the mare inched closer to him. Her delicate head rose high over her withers as she closed to gap between them and extended her muzzle to his shoulder. There she merely bumped him lightly, her grey-colored nostrils flaring as she took in his scent at such a close proximity, and then waited to feel something more. The mare's heart raced briefly with anticipation in her chest, but it was fleeting. She didn't feel the same tightness in her gut when she touched Koray like she had with Nephilim. Could that same feeling come, eventually? Was it stupid of her to hold out some hope that she could love someone so deeply again, and expect the same in return?

Nova feared settling for Koray. But she knew if she left anyway, after his warning, whatever relationship they did have would have no chance or becoming anything more. Plus she still needed the Desert. Despite the bumps in the road along her journey, the last thing she wanted to do was to go home to Evaline or Shamwari with nothing to show for it. The mare retreated from Koray's side after some time and looked at him again. "You're right." She said softly, nearly defeated, her gaze drifting briefly out over the dark silhouettes of the sand dunes in the distance. "So how can I help?"
