What a privilege this morning !!
24 Whistling swans at Minet's Point, including many juveniles. They've arrived from north of Hudson's Bay and are on their way to the coast of the Carolinas.
It is not good for them for us to feed them. Bread of any kind is very bad for their health. If we must, then a bit of shredded fresh lettuce, silver beets, loose corn or peas tossed into the shallow water is ok. But really, their diet of lake water vegetation is the best food for them. Replies:
