I won’t give up until I destroy you all.

“So you returned.” The sneer was blatant and obvious, his lips folded upward to expose his canines. Persistently, his plume flicked sharply from one side to the other as he slowly stalked forward, his shoulder blades rolling round with each exaggerated stride. His nape was held low, swayed to side as he stared the fae down with unblinking lids. His pools moved over her, examining her with detailed intent, but in no way was it sexual. No, rather he was looking for her defects, her wounds. He saw her as he saw all other nonkalaks – as a nonessential piece that happened to exist in life. Where their world to be a chessboard, Kalaks would be the Queens and the Kings – the pieces that really mattered. From there, of course there were some kalaks scattered among the pawns and rooks and nights, along with some mutts dotted among the same. But never would a muddied blood varg be amongst the royalty, and always would the lowliest kalak be above a mutt. Still, before she had abandoned her post, Akuji had grown to have some respect for the fae who now stood before him.
The key word was had.
“I had warned you once not to abandon your post when your pack’s strength was not secure and you did anyway, and now it seems you have again. Where are they now, your pack, your members?” In a grandeur gesture he peered about. “Are they behind me? Over there? What about there?” His muds landed back upon her and he grinned, a cruel slow sliding of his lips upward. “Nope. It’s just me. Perhaps we should wait a while, maybe they will show up then.” Akuji began to circle the boulder, the slightest of limps apparent – all that was left of his run in incident with the three bulls that had left him with a broken limb all of those months ago. Closer and closer he got to the boulder, as if he was a shark closing in on his prey. When he was about ten feet away from her he paused midstride, his tail still viciously moving from side to side. With an almost lazy fashion, his pools swiveled to lay upon the corpse that lay haphazardly before the femme. “Almost if not all the wolves that seek out sanctity and safety in Malignant Felicity have bodies in their wake. Just because you have finally gotten yours does not make you special. All that this is, is your need to show that you are one of us. That you belong. But that is your error – needing to prove this all.” He snorted and shook his head before lowering his haunches.
“But I suppose… this is my home and I have no desire to find another. It is no matter to me who sits upon the throne.” The smirk returns, and he curls his plume around his paws, calming it so that only the tip of it flickers about, showing his mind’s constant need to work endlessly. “And at any rate, I just must certainly stay and see how Drizzt responds to all of this. He is, perhaps, the only wolf who has ever lived here who did not belong. Will he understand? I think perhaps not, but either way it will at least provide me with entertainment.”
