TELL ME, WHY CAN'T THIS BE ENOUGH?

K E Y I K

Paradise was the perfect compromise. It was hot, with rolling sands to keep Keyik at least partially happy and yet there was also a forest (or was that a jungle?) to make Wolpertinger feel more at home. While Wolpertinger thought it was a risk, Keyik was ready to begin taking control of her life and embracing the power she was entitled to, the power she was born into. Salem would draw too much attention too soon, but Atlantis was the perfect place to begin her empire. Once everything was in place, and alliances formed, she could return home without a care in the world.

The slender mare stood on her shore now, the sand and sea sprawling out in front of her while her white-rumped companion rooted around somewhere amongst the palms. Their arrival on Atlantis had signified a change and for the first time in a long time, or perhaps ever, the pair were trouble free – if only for a short time.

With a small smile on her delicate lips, Keyik inhaled the humid air and found not only the scent of freedom and new beginnings, but the familiar scent of a horse she had not seen in years. No matter how much time went by, somehow, he always managed to find her when she least expected it. ”Maslakhat!” she called, her smile widening when the glint of his coat caught her eye on shoreline of her beach. Her nimble limbs quickly covered the distance between them, ”How long have you been here?” she wondered aloud. Perhaps he’d been here all along.
