Distracted as Evren was by the thoughts rushing through her brain, she was not completely blind to the little black cloud that hung over Vita Nova. The young mare refused to be rattled by this, however - even when her herd mate let out an exasperated sigh - and whisked her multicolored tail across her hindquarters with excitement. When Vita Nova grudgingly agreed to her request, Evren's face cracked into a bright grin and she squealed with delight, hopping on the spot.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you," she replied, the words tumbling out of her mouth in a rush. She threw an over-dramatic glance over her shoulder as though to be sure Koray was not lurking behind her, then stepped closer to confer with Vita with their heads close together. "Okay, so I'm going to go and try to recruit some herd members. I think you and I can both agree that this place has become, well, dull to say the least. Koray doesn't seem to want to lift a hoof to change that, so I thought I would."
She sighed. "It's just that this used to be a happy place, back when my parents and sister were still around, and I miss it. I know you're not happy either - I've seen it in your face - and I thought things might be a bit more bearable if we had others to keep us company. Maybe Koray would even lighten up if he saw his family home thriving again. I'd hate to leave you alone with him, though..." Evren thought for a minute, then brightened. "Hey, why don't you come with me? He can't pick on us if we're both gone. And it could be a fun adventure."
