REVOLVE WITHIN.

Valve watched Evaline for trepidation in regard to the mention of her daughter, but decided there was none. Evaline seemed ambivalent about her, but not malicious like Kasabian. Perhaps she would like it if Vita Nova visited, as Orhan as suggested.

“No, actually,” Valve replied, looking to the edge of the territory where the dunes flattened and the expanse of desert began. “Orhan did. He mentioned that she would very much like to see you again.” Valve looked back to Evaline, gauging her reaction once more. The dark mare flicked her tail and decided she would pay him a visit soon, as he had somewhat recently paid her one. She would seek out Vita Nova as well, if needed.

“Friendly enough,” Valve replied in response to the golden mare’s second question. “For now. I intend to travel there soon—and to Luthien to see Shamwari.”

Valve needed to make sure that Orhan would make good on their deal, and that Shamwari knew her terms. After all, Gabbar had initially forged that particular alliance and she was not privy to the exact details of exactly how that happened. In either case, the situation had changed—especially with Evaline’s rescue. The dark mare certainly didn’t have to get her back, but she did—and Shamwari had not contributed to this effort nearly as much as she would have expected. But then again, not everyone was capable of murdering their own brother.

“I don’t suppose there is anything you would like either of them to know?” She finished, offering Evaline a chance to deliver a message if she chose.
