light me up like a bottle rocket

She could get used to this, she thinks as she glances around. Her cloudy eyes can actually be open fully without severe pain – she doubts the light throbbing will ever go away – and it could give her the opportunity to find her full potential. Plus she’ll have plenty of time to get to know her new friends better and help Talya in her mischief-making.

She smiles brightly at the filly’s confirmation of their future plans. It’ll be good to know the layout of the place first, though, for those times that her eyes are at their worst and she has nobody nearby to help her. She has already sworn to herself that she won’t become a hermit. She nods reassuringly at Bob when his hesitant gaze meets hers.

”I think a tour is a great idea,” she puts in, as much for Bob’s sake as Persephone’s. And when Talya also immediately replies in the affirmative, Aurora decides to have a little fun. Her golden head turns to her young friend. ”We wouldn’t want Talya running into any trees because they snuck up on her,” she teases. Of course, Aurora would be the one to run into a tree because she couldn’t see it, but her companions had been so good about the news of her condition that the thought of it being brought up doesn’t bother her anymore.

She keeps her head high as she sets off after Persephone, not wanting to miss anything that her distorted peripheral vision normally wouldn’t pick up on. With every passing minute, she is more secure in the knowledge that the Forest is the perfect place for her.

Her eyes flicker toward Bob and Talya at Persephone’s query, ears twitching a little nervously. She doesn’t want to reveal that the three of them had only met the previous night, afraid it would undermine her reassurances that none of them are troublemakers (at least not the malicious kind).

”I accidently overheard them looking for a place to spend the night. I was already under a willow tree in the falls and offered to share it,” she explains. She decides that the timeline isn’t relevant and hopes that her companions will agree. She has left the statement basic enough that either the stallion or filly could expand on it if they want to, but she’s supplied the main, important point.
