I am seeing a few in downtown Barrie.
I am wondering if the Monarchs we are seeing go all the way to Mexico.
If they do it is a long journey with all the zig zagging they do. No where near as the Crow flies.
Also I have a smaller territorial Butterfly that chased a Monarch for some distance. This Butterfly, about half the size of a Monarch moves so fast, zig zagging, I can't get a good look at it. It is dark in colour, but other than that I can't offer a description. So, 1: Half the size of a monarch. 2: dark in colour. 3: extremely fast. 4 territorial.
Would anyone hazard a guess? Replies:
