He is a threat that I plan to extinguish.
Evren’s light brown eyes had narrowed in anger when he called her blind, but now they snapped open again, wider than before. Was he planning on… killing Koray? Her brother could be cruel when he wanted to, but he was not pure evil. He did not deserve to be put down.
After the shock of the stallion’s comment had washed over her, anger returned to her expression. The young mare stood as straight and tall as she could manage - even though she would never be able to equal the stallion’s great height - and bared her teeth at him. She nearly spooked when he thrust his nose in her face, but she resisted the urge to shrink away from him, standing firm and holding her expression of pure disgust as they stood nose-to-nose.
The cold was sinking into her now, what with no thick winter coat to protect her and seawater still slick against her skin. She could feel her limbs shaking hard now, from exhaustion and adrenaline as well as the cold, but that was the least of her worries. The stallion revealed his name then, and for a moment Evren thought she had misheard him - had he said Orhan? Was she hallucinating, or was he simply taunting her by throwing her father’s name in her face? How did he know his name?
It was then that something inside her broke. “You deserve no respect!” she snarled, and pushed away from him to lift herself into the air, her forelegs kicking out savagely at his chest.
