It was a little worrying, this idea of settling down. The black femme had not expected it to be so hard, she’d adventured so often she had felt sure she’d gotten it out of her system. Yet, as she stared out at the mass of trees, she felt in the pit of her stomach that there was something missing. Sometime beyond her reach. Was it because of the foal’s father? She couldn’t really expect him to be involved in the child’s life - after all it had been a brief moment of lust. Nothing more. Although she still felt a giddy excitement about being a mother she began to worry as she walked with her friend. A single mother, no lover, no family. What kind of home was that?
Trying to push the somber thoughts away, her mind returned to her current company. It seemed like the other woman was happy, that alone was infectious and thus kept a smile on Silvi’s maw. ”Thank you. I haven’t really found a place yet. I hoped I might stay here for a time. Of course if you wouldn’t mind.” She admitted sheepishly. Almost immediately images of her friend Pilar flashed across her eyes. How on earth was she going to swim back and find her now? The water had been so cold… And the babe inside her… You will find a way. She thought with determination.
Silvanus liked the believe in the good of the world. She liked to think that the fates were not cruel creatures, so why did she have such misgivings about her future? As if a cloud hung over her ever since she had arrived on the islands? This was the land she was meant to be in, she believed that. So what could go wrong?
